For our November 13th, 2026 meeting, RMCF welcomes back Dr. Ed Holroyd to speak on the topic ''Practicing For The Ark'. In 2019 Ken Griffith, the author of a 2021 Journal of Creation article did a site visit to a mountain top in southern Turkey. He was thinking that the stone features visible in Google Earth satellite imagery might be on top of (hiding) ballast rocks that remained from the large boat (Ark) of Genesis chapters 6 to 9. He had not analyzed his site data: excellent drone aerial imagery and his walk-through video imagery. Upon request, he sent Dr. Holroyd that imagery. They confirmed that the features in the Google Earth imagery were the ruins of concrete school buildings of the past century. His team is shown on the ground in the drone imagery among meter-sized rounded boulders like river boulders which would be conveniently suitable as ballast for such a huge boat, but they did not recognize that significance. Using the drone imagery, Dr. Holroyd mapped the sizes and locations of boulders at least a half-meter in size. The main concentration of such boulders fits nicely in the dimensions of the Ark. But it will take a future site visit to examine and sample the mineral composition of those boulders to see if they are unique on this mountain (having come from somewhere else) or could have been produced naturally by this shield volcano. A scenario of a possible sequence of events during the beaching of the Ark is suggested in case these boulders are indeed the ballast.
