For our upcoming meeting, RMCF welcomes Michael Calcagno, President of the Arizona Origin Science Association (AzOSA). Michael will present “Continuous Environmental Tracking: A Bible-Based Alternative to Natural Selection.”

Living organisms display an extraordinary ability to adjust and adapt to changing environments. But does this adaptability really require the evolutionary process of natural selection, or is there a better explanation? Michael will present a Bible-based model for understanding how plants and animals adapt to their surroundings, using basic engineering principles as a starting point.

Rather than viewing organisms as passive products of random environmental pressures, Continuous Environmental Tracking examines the built-in systems that allow living things to sense changing conditions and respond appropriately. Understanding how adaptation actually operates in living organisms points unmistakably to our awesome Creator, who designed life on Earth to “be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth.”

Michael Calcagno currently serves as President of the Arizona Origin Science Association and directs operations for its Gila and Navajo Divisions. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and Oregon Army National Guard. Michael earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Elementary Education from Portland State University and taught in Oregon public schools for more than 17 years. He now speaks regularly on creation and biblical apologetics, helping audiences understand how scientific observations fit naturally within the biblical account of creation.
